The downfall of Kramer [Nov. 22nd, 2006|12:26 pm]

In Michael Richard's defence, he has apologised via live satellite on the Letterman show. Still, it's sad to see Cosmo behave like this.

Indulge Yourselves [Feb. 9th, 2006|10:56 pm]
[Current Mood | relieved]
[Current Music |Franz Ferdinand - I'm Your Villain]

So much has happened in 2006 and it's still February!

Had a decent CNY but didn't have the luck as i kept losing money to lucky red socks Sherwin. Went for an enjoyable 11-12km Bukit Timah - Treetop - MacRitchie hike with Grace and Sherwin. It's stuff like that that brings us back to nature. I'm gonna miss all these when Sherwin is back.

I've finally got out of my CNY hangover and really got started on my publication project. I've a good feeling about it.

For the past few days I've been having great food. It's been a long time since I've just pigged out until I can't stuff anything else in anymore. Coffee Club Taka is 10x better than the one outside California Fitness! And the food at June Live Seafood (except for Har Chiong Gai) is excellent!

until the next time peeps! Catch u at Franz Ferdinand next Thurs!

All rise The New Year [Jan. 11th, 2006|09:51 pm]
[Current Mood | accomplished]
[Current Music |Courtney Love - Never Gonna Be The Same]

The rain is ruining everything. Especially my new year's resolutions!

Mostly the previous year's resolution were made, except for the "learn diving" part, which I am still keen on, but I'm not counting on doing it this year, reason = lack of funds. Well at least i did learn wakeboarding.

Here's this year's:

1) Back to the gym, more tone, no more bulk please.

2) Running. Maintain long distance but train 2.4km

3) IPPT gold for next window. Improve on 2.4 and SBJ

4) Get a decent job when I graduate

5) Travel somewhere

6) LESS PROCRASTINATION PLEASE!!

7) Take my CDs out for a listen more often

Shouldn't be too hard except for 3 & 7!

I'm hooked on Courtney Love for some obscure reason. Though she's a major bitch, she's got something going on in her music.

The week's retrospective [Dec. 20th, 2005|12:56 am]
[Current Mood | full]
[Current Music |BT - Kimosabe]

After a hectic packaging project and a tedious grid/typography brief, it's time to finally kick back and relax for the holidays.

2006 is coming you'all (like my slang?)!!

I shall recall what i did in point form.

- Bukit Timah Hill trek with Sherwin, Char & Rox. Monkeys, tau huay with tang yuan and steep slopes. Nuff said.

- Rediscovered the gym!

- Ministry of Sound. The music that opening nite was EXCELLENT! Nothing I have ever heard of. The old cliche that music is the only high u need, could be used.

- Great pre-X'mas dinner with Kym, Grace & Sherwin. Who said u needed to spend extravagantly to have a great time? Old school Monopoly!

- Upcoming: Kusu/St. John's Island visit! On Boxing Day.
More Bukit Timah Hill treks!
Pulau Ubin!

It's time to mourn, gayjason's LJ has been deleted. :(

They left out the bit about... [Dec. 9th, 2005|03:19 am]
[Current Mood | tired]
[Current Music |Massive Attack - Teardrop]

...not having to sleep on eves of deadline!

...having to slice and dice 329234742 pieces of work

...having to strain my eyes cutting, pasting, aligning every bit of my work

...having to spend loads on printing and raw materials!!!

I'm almost halfway there...halfway there!

I must remind myself never to cut my fingernails when i have to use the bloody double sided tape!! I think I've wasted so much time trying to peel off the damn double sided tape!

Hiking peeps: Where and what time are we meeting? What are we gonna have to bring? THANKS. Been too busy to think! Or breathe.

AdAsia 05: The Fallout [Nov. 24th, 2005|04:45 pm]
[Current Mood | sick]
[Current Music |The Mamas & The Papas - California Dreamin']

Best $150 (originally USD $1k!) I have spent on for a long while. It was mind blowing and informative, and it has opened my eyes to the big picture of advertising and made my interest in it grow.

The drawbacks were that I fell sick on the 2nd day and I missed AirAsia's Tony Fernandes and Jetstar Asia's CEO Ken Ryan's talk. Man I really wanted to go for that badly. Christopher Greaves, President of the PR Division Worldwide for Ogilvy stole the show, with his wit and his excellent insight in the scene, as well as Bhaskar Das, Executive President, Bennett, Coleman & Co, whose role as panelist in ONE talk turned into one man show. Mr Das really increased fanbase that day.

The 3 days were spent eating and eating, listening, and freezing my ass in the Suntec Convention Hall's Ballrooms. The nights were alrite and me & my classmates soaked up in the atmosphere, watching people all over Asia networking and even some, making a fool out of themselves. Ah well.

It's like the '80s never left [Nov. 24th, 2005|04:02 pm]
[Current Mood | sick]
[Current Music |Depeche Mode - Precious]

Depeche Mode - Precious

Precious and fragile things
Need special handling
My God what have we done to You?

We always try to share
The tenderest of care
Now look what we have put You through...

Things get damaged
Things get broken
I thought we managed
But words left unspoken
Left us so brittle
There was so little left to give

Angels with silver wings
Shouldn't know suffering
I wish I could take the pain for you

If God has a master plan
That only He understands
I hope it's your eyes He's seeing through

Things get damaged
Things get broken
I thought we managed
But words left unspoken
Left us so brittle
There was so little left to give

I pray you learn to trust
Have faith in both of us
And keep room in your hearts for two

Things get damaged
Things get broken
I thought we managed
But words left unspoken
Left us so brittle
There was so little left to give

Moving on [Nov. 8th, 2005|10:50 pm]
[Current Mood | tired]
[Current Music |The Cardigans - Godspell]

Just completed re-watching the LOTR series, this time, ALL EXTENDED versions, so that made the duration of the 3 movies as long as 6 movies! Each movie clocked 3.5hours each. POWER. 3rd time watching Fellowship of the Ring & The Two Towers, and the 2nd with Return of the King.

Time to move on with some ONG BAK & Tom Yam Goong. Apparently, the actor playing the leads is twice the man that Jackie Chan is and does most of his stunts w/o any wires or help. What a sick dude! So I was actually searching for an image of ONG BAK to post it up, but I found something better.

Hilarious, check out this site

Mind-numbing, back breaking experience [Nov. 5th, 2005|02:57 pm]
[Current Mood | sore]
[Current Music |Hard-Fi - Better Do Better]

Started temp work beginning on Halloween's, Wednesday and Friday @ SFI at Pandan Loop(near FOT's place, also near Hai Kim TER's old school, Tanglin Sec). Yes SFI, the wonderful pple who put food on ur plates during army days and of cos, provide our delicious field rations. (MENU 3 comes to mind, some CHESTNUT CHICKEN RICE shit)

Anyways, it's like working in a factory, and for $5.50/hr, they really squeeze out every ounce of effort out of u. On the 1st day itself, I was working from 8-8pm!! Wow...OT from 5:30pm-8:15pm just on the 1st day! We had to rush a shipment of those instant food packs. I still can't get the PINK packets of Saigon Red Curry Chicken, or the GREEN packets of Thai Green Curry Chicken, the RED packets of Malaysia Curry Rice, the YELLOW packets of Bali Coconut Curry Chicken, the LIGHT RED packets of Java Curry OUT OF MY MIND!

On Wednesday I was also doing the sealing of the packets and I was working non-stop except for the 1hr break! This time, OT was until 6:30pm...what a job huh.

Soon to get worse on Friday! I had to put on yellow PCK boots, those shower-cap like hair masks, and gloves for my next assignment! Next up was packing field rations...it was mind-numbing and everything seemed so....machine-liked. My body got so used to the tasks until my mind could go blank at times. I went home everyday with back aches and sore fingers!

Anyway i felt that if i were sufferring like that already, what about those uncles and aunties working like this everyday of the week? Here I am for only 2 weeks, making abit more than them. Who am I to complain when they are putting up with this crap for months, years?

Next time i think of bitching about not having a high enough pay, i will look back at this experience and remind myself how lucky i am sometimes. 5 more days of HELL @ SFI!!!
