So much has happened in 2006 and it's still February!

Had a decent CNY but didn't have the luck as i kept losing money to lucky red socks Sherwin. Went for an enjoyable 11-12km Bukit Timah - Treetop - MacRitchie hike with Grace and Sherwin. It's stuff like that that brings us back to nature. I'm gonna miss all these when Sherwin is back.

I've finally got out of my CNY hangover and really got started on my publication project. I've a good feeling about it.

For the past few days I've been having great food. It's been a long time since I've just pigged out until I can't stuff anything else in anymore. Coffee Club Taka is 10x better than the one outside California Fitness! And the food at June Live Seafood (except for Har Chiong Gai) is excellent!

until the next time peeps!
The rain is ruining everything. Especially my new year's resolutions!

Mostly the previous year's resolution were made, except for the "learn diving" part, which I am still keen on, but I'm not counting on doing it this year, reason = lack of funds. Well at least i did learn wakeboarding.

Here's this year's:

1) Back to the gym, more tone, no more bulk please.

2) Running. Maintain long distance but train 2.4km

3) IPPT gold for next window. Improve on 2.4 and SBJ

4) Get a decent job when I graduate

5) Travel somewhere

6) LESS PROCRASTINATION PLEASE!!

7) Take my CDs out for a listen more often

Shouldn't be too hard except for 3 & 7!

I'm hooked on Courtney Love for some obscure reason. <lj:music>The Mamas & The Papas - California Dreamin'</lj:music>

Best $150 (originally USD $1k!) I have spent on for a long while. It was mind blowing and informative, and it has opened my eyes to the big picture of advertising and made my interest in it grow.

The drawbacks were that I fell sick on the 2nd day and I missed AirAsia's Tony Fernandes and Jetstar Asia's CEO Ken Ryan's talk. Man I really wanted to go for that badly. Christopher Greaves, President of the PR Division Worldwide for Ogilvy stole the show, with his wit and his excellent insight in the scene, as well as Bhaskar Das, Executive President, Bennett, Coleman & Co, whose role as panelist in ONE talk turned into one man show. Mr Das really increased fanbase that day.

The 3 days were spent eating and eating, listening, and freezing my ass in the Suntec Convention Hall's Ballrooms. The nights were alrite and me & my classmates soaked up in the atmosphere, watching people all over Asia networking and even some, making a fool out of themselves. Ah well.

Moving on from ONG BAK, comes the Crow series. I think no one really knows that there's a latest installment of the The Crow (after the 1st one, City Of Angels and Salvation). The surprising element was that it actually stars Edward Furlong, the kid from American History X and Tara Reid. I guess they've had their 15mins of fame already.

Anyways, it's bloody hilarious how Edward Furlong looks like as The Crow

Well, at least THIS is much better. (From City of Angels)

Brandon Lee still looks the best. R.I.P

Just completed re-watching the LOTR series, this time, ALL EXTENDED versions, so that made the duration of the 3 movies as long as 6 movies! Each movie clocked 3.5hours each. POWER. 3rd time watching Fellowship of the Ring & The Two Towers, and the 2nd with Return of the King.

Time to move on with some ONG BAK & Tom Yam Goong. Apparently, the actor playing the leads is twice the man that Jackie Chan is and does most of his stunts w/o any wires or help. What a sick dude! So I was actually searching for an image of ONG BAK to post it up, but I found something better.

    <lj:music>Hard-Fi - Better Do Better</lj:music>

Started temp work beginning on Halloween's, Wednesday and Friday @ SFI at Pandan Loop(near FOT's place, also near Hai Kim TER's old school, Tanglin Sec). Yes SFI, the wonderful pple who put food on ur plates during army days and of cos, provide our delicious field rations. (MENU 3 comes to mind, some CHESTNUT CHICKEN RICE shit)

Anyways, it's like working in a factory, and for $5.50/hr, they really squeeze out every ounce of effort out of u. On the 1st day itself, I was working from 8-8pm!! Wow...OT from 5:30pm-8:15pm just on the 1st day! We had to rush a shipment of those instant food packs. I still can't get the PINK packets of Saigon Red Curry Chicken, or the GREEN packets of Thai Green Curry Chicken, the RED packets of Malaysia Curry Rice, the YELLOW packets of Bali Coconut Curry Chicken, the LIGHT RED packets of Java Curry OUT OF MY MIND!

On Wednesday I was also doing the sealing of the packets and I was working non-stop except for the 1hr break! This time, OT was until 6:30pm...what a job huh.

Soon to get worse on Friday! I had to put on yellow PCK boots, those shower-cap like hair masks, and gloves for my next assignment! Next up was packing field rations...it was mind-numbing and everything seemed so....machine-liked. My body got so used to the tasks until my mind could go blank at times. I went home everyday with back aches and sore fingers!

Anyway i felt that if i were sufferring like that already, what about those uncles and aunties working like this everyday of the week? Here I am for only 2 weeks, making abit more than them. Who am I to complain when they are putting up with this crap for months, years?

Next time i think of bitching about not having a high enough pay, i will look back at this experience and remind myself how lucky i am sometimes. 5 more days of HELL @ SFI!!!

    <lj:music>Muse - Muscle Museum</lj:music>

The monsoon season is here. Every morning I set my alarm at 9am just to look out of my window to check out the weather. It is either rainy, gloomy, or cloudy, sunless days. Today I woke up and saw sunlight. SALVATION!

I've been meaning to go sun tanning for the longest time and the chance for me to do so was TODAY. God knows when we will have bright sunny days until the end of the year! Ad I just couldn't wait until the NEXT year to get a tan!

So I packed my stuff and headed down to Sentosa (YES alone again!). The signs were ominous when I reached sentosa, the clouds gathered and lo and behold, when I had just set my mat on the sand, i felt a drizzle! $&!%#&^%!#, so i packed my stuff and headed to a shelter and waited the rain out. About 15 mins later, it stopped. And the sun came out again! I rushed to get as much of the sun as I could and tanned for nearly 2 hours before it drizzled again.

That was when I packed up again and waited it out. It was 5 mins before the sun came out AGAIN! So I went to tan AGAIN! This time, it was only half an hour's worth of suntanning before i looked up to the skies and saw BIG GREY CLOUDS blocking out the sun. The thunderstorm was about to arrive!

I was satisfied with today's session and decided to end the day and head back home, so I rushed to take a shower before the rain hit and to avoid a crowd at the toilet. Alas, it poured and rained heavily just as I was done with my shower. What bad luck! I was stuck at the washroom area with swarms of school kids and sec schoolers half my age, waiting the rain out/running from the rain.

The rain would not stop for a good hour++ so i waited for it to get lighter and wanted to make a dash to the nearest bus stop. To my horror, the bus stop was ACTUALLY no further than 10 feet away from the washroom area and I could have easily made it there w/o getting really wet much sooner!

Anyways, mission accomplished and home i went. What can i say. I love the beach!

A weird day today. I'm here updating my LJ with not a worry on my mind, and for once, projects aren't on the back of my mind. I'm usually doing my own stuff but subconciously, i am always reminding myself that I have to do my project abd causing guilt when i'm watching the t.v or just slacking ard.

School's out for 3 weeks and just one more project due on Monday, which is 90% done for me. It's time to kick back and relax. Anyone looking for a temp?
